We are 1 week away from our Spring Conference! Who is excited??
We are! The board members and committee members have been working very hard to button up our final items and be ready to great you all Next Monday morning. Here are some highlights in the “things to know before you go” document and full conference program.
APCO International, KS 911 Coordinating Council, and many other 911 Professionals are working hard to help in the momentum in this new 911 SAVES Act that Congresswoman Torres has stepped up to fight for our reclassification. The bill is known as the 911 SAVES Act, or the 911 Securing Accurate Views of Emergency Services Act of 2019.
APCO International has shared with us a link to give you in support of this. If you go to https://www.apcointl.org/government-relations/take-action/ It’s written so that anyone can send a message to his/her U.S. Representative. It’s quick, easy, and effective. (When there is a companion bill in the Senate, which we expect soon, we will be back in touch with a next call to action directed at U.S. Senators.) You can also add your personal message to the form.
We hope that you participate in this movement to improve our professional recognition. Thank you for taking the time to support this bill.
As a 911 Dispatcher have you ever had the frustrating problem of trying to get an accurate exact location on someone missing but all you get is a radius area?? We have just the class for you at our Spring Conference!!
The Washington County Undersheriff has figured out a great way to use specific questions with the cell phone company and plug into another program for a more accurate location that you can do yourself in the Dispatch Center.
We all want the best outcome for missing people and he is willing to share his knowledge in a class at our conference on Tuesday April 2nd.
To register please go to http://www.ksapco.org for more information. We have many other great classes lined up and we want to share all that we can.
Hello Everyone- We have a new draft schedule. Please note that this is not final and will be updated and changed a little in the next couple weeks. We are still working on biographies and class descriptions as well. We hope that this will give you a better idea of what to expect.
Please go to our conference page for more information and links to registration and hotel information.
Hello everyone- Due to the timing of getting the plaques made by the vendor we have had to move up the date of award nominations being due.
We MUST have all nominations turned in by March 6th at 5pm.
We know that this is a shorter notice but it is something we can not help. We need appropriate time for Colorado to review nominations and votes returned to us for processing. We are still looking for nominations in all categories. We currently have no nominations for Team of the Year and only 2 per each other award group. Go to our award page to see what kind of great prizes you can receive if you win and get those nominations in quickly!
