Hello Kansas dispatch friends! Many Kansas 911 professionals attend the conference in Las Vegas and it was so wonderful to see you there.
We wanted to share a few pics of our trip. Some of the KS Chapter Board members started their week off with Chapter Leader meeting. This is where they give us information for the new people and updates for things happen in the future.
We attended the APCO Business meetings, many classes, Vendor Expo, award ceremony and much more. Networking is a big part of the experience and they always give many opportunities to do just that.
Here are a few pictures of our experience. We hope to see you all at our conference in October! Draft Schedule can be found on our conference page.

“Denise Should be Alive Today”
Our Fall 2018 Keynote Speaker has been secured and we are very excited to be bringing you Keynote Speaker, Nathan Lee from the Denise Amber Lee Foundation.
This is truly a tragic story that has brought awareness to 911 Center’s across the nation on proper training and education. Nathan will be providing us with a couple more breakout classes during our conference. Those classes will be announced at a later date as we finalize them.
We encourage you to check out their page and their mission to improve standardized training, protocols, technological advancements in 911 wireless location and quality assurance across the nation in 911 Dispatch Centers.
Reminder that Call for Papers for our Fall Conference is due July 31st, 2018. If you have any questions or need any help please contact one of the board members.
We can’t do this conference without you!
We want to congratulate Melanie Mills-Bergers (Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center) with her completion of the CPE Program with APCO International.
This is an intense program that helps Leaders in our industry improve their skills.
The Certified Public-Safety Executive (CPE) Program consists of two 12-week online courses and one nine-day capstone course at APCO headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida.
We are very proud of you, Melanie! (Back row, 3rd from left)
“This is a challenging program that engages 911 professionals both in an online forum and then a 2 week capstone seminar. The professors and staff at APCO International have been an integral part of the class success throughout this 6 month program.
The program is highly challenging with weekly course work and is a true test to your time management skills. It required me to think on levels I had not done previously. I would highly recommend this course and found it to be empowering, engaging and truly life changing in many ways.”—-Melanie
